Continuous School Improvement (CSI) is the process by which Vilseck High School remains accredited. On a five-year cycle, Cognia, an educational accreditation organization, visits all DoDEA schools to ensure they offer high quality instruction. How do we prepare for this visit?Â
VHS prepares by focusing on improvement in all we do. For example, teachers analyze PSAT scores to determine which instructional practices help our students succeed. During several half-days this year, the faculty met to share those teaching methods.Â
All faculty and staff support school improvement, and Mr. Devine (data chair), Mr. Eggl (math), and Ms. Evans (literacy) currently plan the training sessions that ensure your student receives the best possible instruction. These sessions center on the School Action Plan, which lists activities that help students develop their Written Expression along with Modeling and Reasoning.
What can you do to support our improvement process? Ask your students to share their writing to encourage written expression. Ask them what they’ve learned from Mathia, one way they’re practicing modeling and reasoning.Â
Together, through collaboration and reflection, we can ensure that our students continue to grow and thrive.
