Creating Your Accounts: Common Application, College Board, FAFSA, Individual College/ University Portals Paying for College-Show Me the Money!

(2-hour session-5:30-7:30) 

College & Career 101 Series: Don’t wait until Senior year to create your accounts! This session will focus on creating all the necessary accounts online for students who have made the decision to continue their education beyond high school. We will also go over the college essay, requesting letters of recommendations, transcripts and a written evaluation from your School Counselor. To conclude this 2-hour session we will discuss the best way to pay for college, including state colleges vs. state universities, military grants & scholarships for dependents as well as other funding sources. We will discuss Title IV funding (federal grants, scholarships, and loans) requirements and research community scholarships, institutional scholarships, state scholarships and grants. We will explain how the FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) is utilized by Colleges/ Universities to offer you a Financial Aid package.
