Drama Club Delivers a Whodunit Hit with Murder’s in the Heir
The Vilseck High School Drama Club brought comedy, mystery, and mayhem to the MPR with its recent production of Murder’s in the Heir, directed by VHS Drama Teacher Dana Panczenko. The performance was a tremendous success, delighting audiences and showcasing the talent, dedication, and teamwork of VHS students.
From the moment the doors opened, excitement filled the space as students, staff, families, and community members gathered to support the cast and crew. The audience was engaged, enthusiastic, and wonderfully supportive throughout the evening—responding with laughter, applause, and genuine appreciation for the performers’ hard work.
Murder’s in the Heir challenged its cast with fast-paced comedy, dramatic timing, and an engaging mystery that kept audiences guessing. The students rose to the occasion, delivering confident performances that reflected many hours of rehearsal, focus, and collaboration. As Ms. Panczenko shared after opening night, the cast “absolutely rocked that stage,” building something truly special that the audience clearly loved.
The success of the production was not only due to the cast’s dedication but also to the incredible support behind the scenes. Student crew members worked diligently to manage sets, costumes, props, and backstage organization, ensuring the show ran smoothly. Following the performance, the ensemble came together once again for strike—returning the stage to its original condition—demonstrating professionalism, responsibility, and true teamwork.
This production also highlighted the strength of the Vilseck High School community. Staff members, families, and volunteers generously gave their time and energy to support the performance, making it a true school-wide effort. These contributions, both visible and behind the scenes, helped create a memorable experience for everyone involved.
As shared with the school community prior to the show, productions like Murder’s in the Heir represent many hours of hard work and dedication by our students and staff, and they are a wonderful reflection of the creativity and talent within Vilseck High School. The strong turnout and positive energy in the audience reaffirmed how much our community values and supports the arts.
