Jasmine Tetterton finished as the top European shooter from the season!

On Friday and Saturday Vilseck hosted the first ever two-day tournament to determine the DODEA-European Champion in a highly competitive, national level performance match.  Vilseck’s team  led by senior co-captains Jasmine Tetterton and Jonathan Talbot (Camdyn Deese, Emma Eggert and Mia McAfee-Bonaldi other team members) put on a fine display of perseverance and resilience.  On Friday, the team shot well and posted a very good score of 2274. This score at various points in season was #1 or #2 in Europe. However, the field is full of nationally ranked teams and our very good score saw Vilseck in 4th place after day 1.  Ansbach shot 2284 was in 3rd, Wiesbaden shot 2293 was in 2nd, and K-Town posted their best score of the season breaking the 2300 mark with a 2310 score.  This put tremendous pressure on all teams as K-Town made it very difficult to catch them on day 2.  Vilseck rallied shooting their Day 2 match in the second relay.  K-Town put the championship out of reach with a higher score of 2310. If they score this next week in Anniston Alabama, they will repeat as Air Force Champions.  Ansbach had another excellent round shooting 2288.  Vilseck stepped to the firing line and went to work next to the Wiesbaden team and put on an excellent display scoring a team best ever of 2292.  The team surged past Wiesbaden’s day 2 score of 2262 and captured third place.  The team fell just short of Ansbach (2-day total: 4572) for second place by 6 points from a tournament worths 4800 total points.   Vilseck finished with 4566.

Final standings: 1. K-Town: 4626 - 2. Ansbach: 4572 – 3. Vilseck: 4566 – 4. Stuttgart: 4512 – 5. Ramstein: 4492

Some individual accolades were made.

  • Jasmine Tetterton finished as the top European shooter from the season
  • Camdyn Deese took the high kneeling score for individual with a two day total of 393 points of 400.

The top 8 shooters from the tournament competed in a start from zero finals shooting 3 positions in a much shorter timeframe. Jasmine Tetterton took 5th place and Camdyn Deese took the silver medal.

All in all, a great tournament for the team. They will continue to train this week as we prepare for the Army Service Championship at Camp Perry, Ohio. We fly out this Saturday. I will send links out later to for those to watch the live match on 13-14 February.  Wish the following members good skill, remember there is no luck in shooting.

  • Team 1 – Jasmine Tetterton, Jonathan Talbot, Camdyn Deese and Emma Eggert
  • Team 2 – Justin Friebe, Russell Beargeon, Mia McAfee-Bonaldi, and Landon Hill
